Kentucky’s Land Snails: Citizen Science in Action
September 5 @ 5:45 pm - 8:00 pm
Presenters: Dan and Judy Dourson
Join Dan and Judy Dourson as they share their passion for one of the lesser known organisms, land snails. The program will focus on the importance of land snails in a healthy ecosystem and provide an overview of results of Kentucky’s statewide land snail survey in 2019-2020. Professional biologists and citizen scientists assisted in this ambitious endeavor that documented numerous new county and state records with a few new species to science!
This program is part of the Bluegrass Biodiversity Seminar Series, which offers free evening presentations on Kentucky’s natural history and biodiversity in the historic Trail’s End Lodge.
This program is generously sponsored by Charley and Kim Sither to make attendance free for all participants.
