• Protecting, Restoring, and Sharing Nature in the Bluegrass

Floracliff Nature Sanctuary is a 346-acre nonprofit nature preserve located in the Kentucky River Palisades region. Our mission is to care for the sanctuary property, ensure its protection as a nature preserve and promote public education of the natural history of the Inner Bluegrass region.

Floracliff is only open for guided hikes and events. We offer a variety of programs, volunteer and research opportunities, and hands-on workshops to interested individuals and groups. Please see our Events page for more details.

COVID-19 and Floracliff Operations (Updated May 15, 2020):
Due to COVID-19, we have canceled all guided hikes through June 15th, and suspended our weekly volunteer days until further notice. We greatly miss the fellowship of our group hikes and our team of volunteers, but these decisions are important to keep our visitors, volunteers, and staff safe and healthy.

During this time, our work continues to protect, restore, and share nature in the Bluegrass. We are currently managing invasive plants like garlic mustard and bush honeysuckle, surveying and monitoring the native plants and animals of Floracliff, and improving the safety and function of our trails and facilities for your return. We are also working on educational webinars to offer in the coming weeks and months and invite you to follow us on Facebook and Instagram to keep up with our observations in the field.

We wish you all the best of health and hope to see you on the trails soon!
