• Protecting, Restoring, and Sharing Nature in the Bluegrass

Floracliff Nature Sanctuary is a 346-acre nonprofit nature preserve located in the Kentucky River Palisades region. Our mission is to care for the sanctuary property, ensure its protection as a nature preserve and promote public education of the natural history of the Inner Bluegrass region.

Floracliff is only open for guided hikes and events. We offer a variety of programs, volunteer and research opportunities, and hands-on workshops to interested individuals and groups. Please see our Events page for more details.

COVID-19 and Floracliff Operations (Updated June 18, 2020):
We are happy to share we are phasing in activities at Floracliff. Following the guidelines in our “COVID-19 Protocols and Safety Plan”, our tenured volunteers have resumed helping with forest restoration, trail restoration, and citizen science projects. Beginning the first week of July, we are phasing in private guided hikes on Tuesday and Thursday mornings for small groups with a limited number of households. These tours will not be the educational hikes we typically offer, but if you are missing Floracliff and are eager to visit soon, they will give you that opportunity. Bathrooms and facilities will remain closed until further notice.

Additionally, we are offering a few webinars over the summer to highlight the biodiversity and natural history of our region. To register and learn more about upcoming webinars and private hikes, follow this link: https://floracliff.org/events/

We continue to wish you all the best of health and hope to see you on the trails soon!
