• Protecting, Restoring, and Sharing Nature in the Bluegrass

Floracliff Nature Sanctuary is a 346-acre nonprofit nature preserve located in the Kentucky River Palisades region. Our mission is to care for the sanctuary property, ensure its protection as a nature preserve and promote public education of the natural history of the Inner Bluegrass region.

Floracliff is only open for guided hikes and events. We offer a variety of programs, volunteer and research opportunities, and hands-on workshops to interested individuals and groups. Please see our Events page for more details.

COVID-19 and Floracliff Operations (Updated August 21, 2020):
This summer we have slowly phased in activities at Floracliff. Following the guidelines in our “COVID-19 Protocols and Safety Plan”, our volunteers resumed helping with forest restoration, trail restoration, and citizen science projects in June. We began offering private guided hikes for small groups in July and have more hiking opportunities, including weekend hikes, scheduled for September. For those interested in visiting Floracliff, please see our events page for upcoming opportunities.

Additionally, we are offering a few webinars over the next few months to highlight the biodiversity and natural history of our region. To register and learn more about upcoming webinars and hikes, follow this link: https://floracliff.org/events/

We continue to wish you all the best of health and hope to see you on the trails soon!
