City Nature Challenge: Creek Exploration
May 1 @ 11:00 am - 2:00 pmFree
Calling all community scientists! This program will focus on exploring a section of one of our creeks to discover and document aquatic life for the City Nature Challenge. Each registered party must have at least one member who has, or can create, an iNaturalist account in advance of the program. Be prepared to photograph your findings and upload them to iNaturalist either during the program or by May 3rd.
Bring: water, closed-toe shoes, hiking stick (optional), camera or smart phone for taking pictures
Hike Leaders: Floracliff naturalists
Hiking level: Difficult (due to steep, uneven, and slippery terrain)
Please note: Bathrooms and facilities are currently closed to visitors. Please come prepared. All hikers will be expected to practice physical distancing from the hike leader and others outside their household. All hikers are also expected to wear a mask while hiking. Masks can be removed when the group reaches Elk Lick Creek and can spread out appropriately. This hike will host no more than 10 participants.
We are offering City Nature Challenge programs for free, however tax-deductible donations may be made during check-out. All donations support our work to care for the land and offer programs.
Refund Policy: Refunds are permitted for cancellations made at least two weeks in advance of the event.
No refunds or ticket transfers will occur if the request is made less than two weeks prior to the event.
